We are excited to announce that the Dickson Swim Club is ready for the 2024-25 season, with a start date of Sunday, 17 November 2024. Warm-ups will beginning promptly at 9.45am for a 10am start. Swim sessions will be followed by the famous Dickson Swim Club pancakes.
The first session of Friday Personal Bests will be on Friday, 22 November at 6.00pm-7.00pm.
Dickson Swim Club is a non-competitive club and will continue to run non-competitive, group training activities.
Please arrive by 9:40 next Sunday if your child needs to be assessed to determine group allocation.
Please note the swim skill levels required for each group.
Lane 1 Shallow End:
– Child will need to be able to swim 20m recognisable freestyle and 20m recognisable backstroke
Lane 1 Deep End:
– Child will need to be able to swim 30m recognisable freestyle and 30m recognisable backstroke
Lane 2:
– Child will need to be able to swim 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 25m breastroke, and will be swimming multiple laps.
Lane 3:
– Child will need to be able to swim 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 50m breastroke, and will be swimming multiple laps.
The instructors will determine where your child will best fit in. Should you wish to discuss your child’s swimming or have any concerns or feedback, please don’t hesitate to talk to us. Please remember, the instructors and the committee are all volunteers.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
This season, membership fees are set to $126.46 per swimmer, with discounts available for families with three or more children, or those experiencing financial hardship.
The membership covers Friday night and Sunday morning training sessions at Dickson Pool. Please note that pool entry fees still apply. Please note that this membership does not cover competitive swimming in Swimming ACT or Swimming NSW competitive meets (as Dickson Swim Club is not a competitive club).
Anyone who is already a member of another Swimming NSW affiliated club should use the Second Claim Membership option (to avoid paying for insurance twice).
Online registrations for 2024-25 are now open on Swim Central
If you are a new member or have changed your email address, you will need to register with Swim Central. Past members will already have a Swim Central account with family members linked. If you forgot your password, follow the link to reset it.
To purchase Dickson Swim Club membership products:
- Log in to Swim Central using your email address and password.
- In the Quick Links menu select the Join a Club.
- Under Find the Club, type Dickson and select Dickson Swim Club.
- Under Who are you purchasing for?, select the family member you wish to purchase the membership for. This will open their home page.
- Review the membership product/s for the family member and click Add to Cart.
- You might be asked to Enter your PIN to Unlock Family Administration Mode. Search your email account Inbox for the Swim Central PIN, or select Forgot PIN to receive it again.
- The membership product is now added to the shopping cart for the family member.
- Repeat steps 4-7 for each subsequent family member.
- At the Checkout, review all selected membership products and complete the purchase by providing credit card details.
POOL ENTRY
Please note that swimmers will be required to pay entry costs to Dickson Pool for each session they attend. Swimmers can purchase 10 or 20 visit or season swim passes, or pay a casual entry at the pool. Non-swimming parents and carers will be able to enter the pool facility at no cost. If you change your mind later and decide to swim, please make sure you then pay at the front desk.
DUTY OF CARE is a responsibility of guardians. Families should be mindful of the aquatic supervision guidelines. Dickson Pool mandates that children (under 13 years) are not allowed entry unless under active supervision of a person 16 years or older.
VOLUNTEERING
The Dickson Swim Club is run entirely by volunteers. Your participation is greatly welcomed. Either email Dickson Swim Club or let a committee member know you are willing to help.
All families will be asked to sign up on the pancake roster. Pancake responsibilities include shopping for supplies, preparing the batter and cooking pancakes. All utensils and instructions are provided.
