It is hard to believe autumn is officially here.
Canberra Day Long Weekend
As discussed, we will cancel the sessions on Fri 6 Mar and Sun 8 March, over Canberra Day long weekend, as most of the club volunteers will be away.
This is the weekend when Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club hosts the annual Broulee Bay to Breakers Ocean Swim. While this is not the club event, over the years many past and present DSC members and their families have enjoyed the challenge. If your family is interested, please have a chat with us. End of Season 2025-26
The final PB session for the season will be on Fri 20 Mar. Parents are encouraged to jump in and race against the kids on the night. This session will not be officially timed and laps counted.
The Dickson Pool will close for the season on Sun 22 Mar 2026. Dickson Swim Club will celebrate the end of season on the same date with a fun session of pool games and awards. Instead of pancakes we will serve a sausage sizzle, vegan option included.
New Club T-shirts
You might have noticed a shimmer of new colours over the past couple of weeks. Our wonderful timekeeper Julie has hand screen printed a new batch of club t-shirts. Please consider purchasing some for your family or friends and supporting the club.
We’ve managed to keep the cost of t-shirts at $20 only. You can pay using cash, PayID, square tap or square web portal. Our friendly volunteers can take you through available stock and help you if you have any issues. If a size you’re after is not available, please email us and we’ll ensure it is restocked in the next batch.
Youth Mental Health Fundraiser
Again this season some of our volunteers and friends are swimming Laps for Life 1-31 March 2026 and raising funds for ReachOut who provide Youth Mental Health Services. You can support this worthy cause here: https://www.lapsforlife.com.au/fundraisers/DicksonYappers.
Membership Registration and Fees
Please register your family and pay fees for your children ASAP. These registrations are critical to enable us to run as a club, and are essential for our housekeeping, insurance and volunteer training (as well as to ensure your child is eligible for the end of season awards on 22 March).
